Upgraded for the T6.1, Front Assist with City Emergency Braking warns the driver of impending collisions and, if necessary, will autonomously apply the brakes. On the T6.1, it even responds to potential roadside hazards such as cyclists and pedestrians. This system helps keep drivers and cargo safe, as well as reducing the risk of accidents and subsequent costs through damage repair and downtime.
Adaptive Cruise Control provides relaxed, safe and stress-free driving and improved safety for other road users. It measures the distance to the vehicle in front and adjusts your speed accordingly. If the vehicle in front accelerates, the Transporter 6.1 Dropside automatically follows at the set distance up to the previously selected speed. With the Transporter 6.1 Dropside, this system can bring the vehicle to a complete standstill and then pull away when the vehicle in front has moved (DSG only).
The Transporter 6.1 Dropside features an advanced safety system that brakes automatically after a collision to prevent a second impact. After a short delay, the vehicle begins a phased braking action down to 6 mph, during which time the driver can take over at any point.
